As part of our topic about the Tudors, Class 5 have been creating Tudor dances. After researching moves and steps on the internet, the children worked in groups to create their own Tudor dance....all with great success. After lots of practice, today we performed the dances all together in the hall for Mrs. Murray and Father Edwin. Have a look at our dances....we hope you enjoy them!!

Year 6 Enterprise Week
We started our enterprise week with a visit from local business woman Carrie Elspeth. She has her own jewellery business based in Llandow. She was inspiring and gave us lots of tips for setting up in business. We all went bead crazy and made some beautiful bracelets to sell.
Mr C. Janczewski works for Business Connect and helps people to set up their own business. He showed us how to write a business plan and told us what we would need to do step by step! I hope he'll be able to help us when we start our own business'. Dragon's Den here we come!

Year 6 World War 2 Experience
It was a great museum. We learnt a lot about the Swansea bombings. The best bit was being in the dark in the shelter and going to the pub!!! By the way the powdered eggs were disgusting!

Young Entrepreneurs
Yesterday (Wednesday October 9th) saw Class 6 and Class 5 combining as a "company" to begin manufacturing products to sell in school next week. This work is part of our work on Enterprise and has seen the children brainstorming their creative ideas, discuss expenditures, profits and their customer base before beginning work on production lines yesterday.
All children were involved making products ranging from glass bead bracelets, bookmarks and
Christmas decorations to plant pots and friendship bracelets.
All children worked really hard in an effort to maximise their profits in our sale next week. We all hope lots of parents will be able to attend to support the children in this venture and to allow us to make a good profit!

A New Sport
On Friday October 4th, Class 5 (and the rest of KS2) had a great time being introduced to the sport of ....squash! Two coaches set up portable "walls" in the school hall and the children had great fun learning about the game and trying out new skills.
We would all like to say a huge "thank you" to Karen and Chris who came to coach us and we hope to see them again in the future.

Tudor Explorers
In Class 5 we have been learning about "The Golden Age of Exploration " of Tudor times. Today we have started working in groups, researching one of the great English Tudor explorers.....Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Francis Drake or John Cabot.
We have found out our interesting facts today and will look for more facts as part of our homework. When we have our facts and pictures collected together and sorted, we will work as a group to present our work about our chosen Tudor explorer to the rest of the class......we hope they learn as much about them as we have!
Watch this space for photographs of our presentations ......coming soon!
